Chile
Chile submitted its first Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in 2017, followed by an updated version in 2020. Most recently, in September 2025, Chile submitted its 2025 NDC.
Building on its climate change framework law and long-term strategy toward net zero by 2050, Chile commits to keeping greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions below 90 million tonnes CO2e by 2035.
Mitigation priorities include at least 80% renewable electricity by 2030, a roadmap for sustainable fuels in long-distance transport by 2028, new efficiency and carbon pricing measures for industry and energy by 2035 and managing 50,000 hectares of native forests.
Adaptation priorities include water security and climate resilient agriculture, ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation, resilient infrastructure and human settlements and national food security strategy for fisheries and aquaculture.
Chile's 2025 NDC was developed under the leadership of the Ministry of Environment.

Climate Commitments
- Membership: Member since 2016. Founding member.
- Country Engagement: Since joining the Partnership, Chile has requested support related to improving the quality and ambition of the NDC and LT-LEDS development. In addition, partners have supported various activities, including the preparation of an investment plan to implement NDC and LTS guidelines on Nature-Based Solutions, as well as the development of sectoral mitigation and adaptation plans, regional climate action plans, and community-level GHG inventories.
