NDC Partnership Database Expands Access to Climate-Aligned Project Preparation and Business Development Services

30 Sept. 2025 — The NDC Partnership Support Unit — with support from the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA) and the United Kingdom’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) — launched a new online database to expand access to climate-aligned project preparation and business development services. 

Designed for project proponents in national and subnational governments, private sector entities, international and civil society organizations, start-ups and micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMES), the Project Preparation Support Database makes these resources easier to access and use, helping support concrete climate initiatives in NDC Partnership member countries and other developing economies. 

While many project preparation and business development services exist globally, they are often difficult to identify and access. The Project Preparation Support Database addresses that gap and facilitates a global matchmaking process. 

This latest addition to the NDC Partnership Knowledge Portal, the Project Preparation Support Database is a searchable database of international, regional, national, and subnational climate-aligned project preparation facilities (PPFs) and business incubators and accelerators — hosted by international climate funds, multilateral development banks, bilateral donors, nongovernmental organizations and select country-led or country-focused facilities. It also includes a selection of other entities working in the project preparation ecosystem, including facilities that support the development of innovative financial mechanisms — which go on to support individual climate project — and those focused solely on matching project proponents with downstream support providers.    

PPFs equip project proponents with support to turn ideas and goals, outlined in country NDCs and policy frameworks into fully developed investment-ready projects. Likewise, climate-focused incubators and accelerators provide early-stage, climate-related businesses with the guidance and resources to grow into high-impact ventures that generate green jobs, promote sustainable growth in emerging markets and advance their countries’ NDC implementation.

With this new resource, the NDC Partnership continues to close the gap between ambition and action, supporting countries’ efforts to turn climate goals into investment-ready projects and investments that deliver real impact.
