As the gap between adaptation needs and available funding widens, the private sector is becoming increasingly important in adaptation finance and investments.

This webinar — the second in a series by UNDP’s G7 Adaptation Accelerator Hub, in collaboration with the Center for Access to Climate Finance (hosted by the NDC Partnership Support Unit) — will explore the private sector’s crucial role in climate adaptation and the urgent need to mobilize private investment into adaptation finance.

This session will highlight key actors in the adaptation finance ecosystem, barriers to adaptation finance, the holistic role of private investments in adaptation and successful case studies in adaptation finance that demonstrate adaptation finance as a strategic and profitable opportunity for the private sector.

Panelists will discuss how adaptation has evolved into a core business issue, the need to shift the private sector’s role from a peripheral financier to a core driver of climate resilience by emphasizing the role of private sector actors as innovators and technical specialists who provide climate-resilient products and services.
