SB64: Wrapping Up the GIZ NDC Partnership Readiness Project — Lessons to Scale Up Agile Solutions for Climate Support
With the GIZ NDC Partnership Readiness Project (NRP) coming to an end, this event provides an opportunity to reflect on lessons learned and highlight good practices generated throughout its engagement period.
In collaboration with the NDC Partnership, the NRP supported developing countries in advancing their NDCs through small, targeted contributions tailored to country needs, capacity and the existing support landscape.
This flexible approach, combined with close alignment with the NDC Partnership and its members, enabled the project to address critical support gaps. It built on previous efforts while feeding into ongoing and planned initiatives. By positioning its activities within the broader support landscape and coordinating closely with partners, the project demonstrated the value of complementarity and coherence — helping ensure that countries receive support packages that are well sequenced, mutually reinforcing and cohesive rather than fragmented.
At a time of constrained funding, this event also provides an opportunity to reflect jointly on a changing climate support landscape and to consider how support approaches may need to evolve moving forward.
