SB64: On the Road from Mauritius to Fiji — Advancing NDC Implementation Readiness Across Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
Building on the outcomes of the Regional Forum, the objective of this event is to formulate strategic messages and develop a coherent and action-oriented agenda for strengthening implementation readiness and accelerating climate action in SIDS.
Country representatives will review and further develop key recommendations from the forum, while select SIDS and implementing partners share their ongoing work to enhance implementation readiness and develop synergies across regions.
During the session, participants will also review how available tools and support programs align with each other and explore strategies for achieving critical masses for regional collaboration among SIDS for new support programs.
Ultimately, the session seeks to inform Pre COP and COP31 processes by providing a consolidated SIDS perspective, ensuring that their priorities, needs, and constraints are effectively reflected and addressed in the negotiations.
Target participants include stakeholders of the regional forum, including SIDS governments, regional and international organizations, implementers, national representatives and non-governmental stakeholders, representatives from the COP Presidency and key negotiation groups such as AOSIS.
