SB64, Invite Only: P2P Exchange on Bridging the Implementation Gap — Optimizing Project Preparation to Mobilize Climate Finance

The event will convene representatives of national governments, multilateral development banks (MDBs), vertical climate and environment funds (VCEFs) and project preparation experts to foster a collaborative learning environment for co-creating practical solutions and innovations to overcome barriers to translate climate ambition into investment-ready pipelines.

The specific objectives of the peer exchange are to:

• Present and discuss the findings and recommendations of the joint RMI and NDC Partnership Support Unit Policy Brief on the climate-aligned project preparation landscape.
• Jointly assess and unpack recurring bottlenecks and explore priorities and integrated solutions to be applied to improve project preparation at the country and system levels.
• Inform an incoming Policy Brief that will deep dive into experiences and best practices in building and sustaining domestic, country-owned project preparation ecosystems to scale resilient and low carbon development.
• Provide the foundation for a targeted technical discussion to be held during London Climate Week.
• Inform the work of the Taskforce on Access to Climate Finance and the NDC Partnership.
