The Raising Ambition through Partnership (RAP) webinar series highlights successful examples of mitigation and adaptation ambition-raising efforts while promoting exchange and learning to scale impact across the NDC Partnership.

The NDC Handover Checklist was initially developed following observations from the 2020-2021 NDC revision process, where gaps in data availability, documentation, and institutional memory created challenges in updating and enhancing national commitments. Recognizing the need for a systematic approach to retaining institutional knowledge, Climate Analytics and the GIZ Support Project for Implementation of the Paris Agreement (SPA) developed the original checklist in collaboration with international partners.

This webinar will introduce the 2024 update of the NDC Handover Checklist (update will be posted at this link when available), a key tool for governments to document the formulation process of their NDCs. The checklist supports institutional memory, enabling smoother future revisions and facilitating linkages with reporting obligations under the Paris Agreement. Participants will learn how to effectively use the updated checklist and discuss best practices for ensuring a seamless transition of data and processes between NDC cycles.
