NDC implementation is a critical opportunity to connect climate ambition with sustainable development priorities.

Join UNDP, UNFCCC and the NDC Partnership Support Unit for Session 2C: "NDCs and the 2030 Agenda — Advancing Integrated Implementation for Climate and SDGs" at the Seventh Global Conference on Climate and SDG Synergies in Bangkok.

The session will explore how countries can operationalize NDCs as whole of government and whole of society frameworks that align climate action with national planning, budgeting, sectoral policies and SDG priorities.

Speakers will share practical approaches for strengthening cross-ministerial ownership, aligning public and private finance and embedding social inclusion and just transition principles into all stages of implementation.

The session will explore the following guiding questions:

  1. How can NDCs be operationalized as an integrated national framework that aligns climate action with sustainable development priorities, planning systems and sectoral policies?
  2. What governance and institutional arrangements have proven effective in strengthening cross-ministerial coordination and embedding NDC implementation within national development planning and budgeting processes?
  3. How can public and private finance — including multilateral development banks (MDBs) support — be more effectively aligned with NDC priorities to deliver integrated climate and SDG outcomes at scale?
  4. What practical mechanisms enable meaningful participation of youth, women, Indigenous Peoples and local communities as co-delivery partners in NDC implementation?
  5. How can countries strengthen monitoring and reporting systems to track joint climate and development outcomes while reducing duplication and capacity burdens?
