COP31: Scaling the Energy Transition Through NDC 3.0 Implementation and Long-Term Net Zero Strategies
As countries move forward with implementing their third-generation Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs 3.0), the next five years will be critical for advancing the effective implementation of the Dubai outcomes from COP28, strengthening national resilience and keeping global temperature goals within reach.
Discussions initiated in Belém by the COP30 Presidency, as well as at the Santa Marta Summit, have placed the transition away from fossil fuels at the center of the political agenda. However, important questions remain regarding how this transition should be designed, implemented and supported at both the national and international levels.
This event will bring together national representatives and experts, partners, civil society stakeholders and independent assessment bodies to share lessons learned from experience, highlight country-driven progress and identify concrete opportunities to strengthen collaboration in the energy sector. The aim is to support ambitious and actionable NDCs and long-term strategies that are capable of attracting investment and delivering a just and effective energy transition.
