COP30: From Vision to Action: Delivering NDC and LT-LEDS Ambition Through Multilevel Partnerships for a Just Transition
Achieving the transformative goals of the Paris Agreement requires aligning short-term Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) with Long-Term Strategies (LTS) that promote a just and sustainable transition. This session will explore how countries are integrating their long-term climate visions into concrete multilevel partnership frameworks—linking national policies with subnational implementation and fostering collaboration across sectors and regions.
Rooted in the experience of the "2050 is Now" project and the Coalition for High Ambition Multilevel Partnerships (CHAMP), the event will highlight the importance of coherence between NDCs and LT-LEDS (Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategies) as mechanisms for social inclusion, economic resilience, and deep decarbonization. It will feature experiences from countries from different geographies, showcasing how diverse institutional processes are enabling local and regional actors to contribute directly to enhanced 2025 NDCs and long-term low-emission development pathways.
Through data, case studies, and dialogue among experts and government representatives, participants will gain insights into how national and subnational efforts can be harmonized to scale ambition, mobilize climate finance, and ensure that climate action drives sustainable development and just transition outcomes.
