COP30: New Structures for Adaptation Finance: Aligning the Global, National, and the Local
Details
Join us at the Resilience Hub to explore the growing landscape of nationally and internationally driven initiatives tackling the adaptation finance gap in climate-vulnerable economies.
This session will spotlight key initiatives and ongoing efforts, including:
- A forthcoming policy brief, commissioned by the Center and developed by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) that will show how programmatic, country-led approaches are enabling governments to plan, coordinate, and mobilize adaptation finance more effectively
- How the Bangladesh Climate Development Partnership (BCDP) mobilizes both domestic and international climate finance
- The Facility for Investible National Planning and Implementation (FINI), to be launched at COP30 to provide a collaborative platform for private sector actors and development finance organizations to support national adaptation planning
- The Scaling and Accelerating Facility for Adaptation (SAFA)—founded by GGGI in partnership with the Adaptation Fund—a blended finance facility that aims to aggregate, replicate, and scale proven locally led adaptation projects
The discussion will unpack these initiatives, examine how they can align and complement each other, and explore how emerging structures can help build a more coherent and effective adaptation finance architecture.
