COP28: Leading a Just and Equitable Transition in Local and Regional Governments of South America

This session will be a discussion between Mayors and Governors from South America, moderated by ICLEI, that will highlight:
- Trends for an Equitable and Just Transition at the local level.
- Bridging energy transition and climate justice agendas in the Local Action Plans with the NDCs commitments
Key message: Justice and equity should be at the core of the response to the climate emergency. We urgently need horizontal and vertical collaboration at a greater scale to deliver just and equitable climate emergency response in our communities and raise ambitions in the NDCs. Complex challenges, such as climate change, need dynamic solutions.
