NDCs 3.0, the next round of NDC submissions due in 2025, are an opportunity to bring the world back on to the pathway necessary to bring global GHG emissions in line with the Paris Agreement and limit global warming to 1.5°C, while protecting all peoples from climate change impacts.

Approaches including enhancing renewable energy capacity and improving energy efficiency as well as strengthening the provisions for national nature-based solutions-related measures could contribute towards defining more ambitious, informative, instructive, and implementable new NDCs while providing an opportunity to start developing a more holistic approach to tackling the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.

Within the framework of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-6), this high-level roundtable will set the scene with regards to the enablers bringing the world back in line of a 1.5-degree pathway and synergies between climate and biodiversity agendas to increase overall ambition.
