2024 NYC Climate Week - Leading the Energy Transformation: Navigating a Just Transition to 1.5°C
Urgent climate action is needed to triple renewable energy production, phase out fossil fuels, and scale up climate finance to keep the global temperature rise in line with the 1.5-degree C Paris Agreement target.
As the UN General Assembly opens, the high-level forum, “Leading the Energy Transformation: Navigating a Just Transition to 1.5°C,” will bring together senior thought leaders to discuss accelerating the energy transition. They will explore how the international community, national governments and key actors can ramp up action in the next 18 months.
Organized by the International Peace Institute and the NDC Partnership, the hybrid forum will be held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly at IPI on Monday, 23 Sept. 2024, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. EDT.
