Tanzania In-Country Facilitator

Samwel Sudi is a climate change and climate finance expert, currently serving as NDC In-country Facilitator for Tanzania, embedded within the Division of Environment of the Office of the Vice President. He has more than 10 years of experience in providing technical support to government institutions, private sector actors, and civil society organizations on climate change and climate finance. Samwel has been involved in supporting the Government of Tanzania to kick-start UNFCCC process of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP). Through, this process Samwel was able to support the Vice President’s Office – Division of Environment in updating the INDC to NDC. Additionally, Samwel supported Ministries of Health and Water to develop the “National Health Adaptation Plan to Climate Change 2018 – 2023”, and review the “Water Resources Management Strategic Interventions and Action plan for Strategic Intervention - 2012” respectively. Samwel has proven experience of supporting institutions in accessing and utilizing climate funds from the Adaptation Fund and International Climate Initiative (IKI). Samwel holds Master’s Degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development, also he is a certified climate finance trainer, with a focus on climate adaptation project design. Samwel is based in Dodoma, Tanzania.
