Isabel Pasternack
Country Engagement Specialist
Isabel is a Country Engagement Specialist at the NDC Partnership Support Unit. She is currently based at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat in Bonn, Germany.
In her role, she works with governments and international organizations to support countries in achieving their climate commitments under the Paris Agreement. Isabel's primary focus is on the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in the Caribbean and Africa.
Before joining the Support Unit, Isabel worked as an advisor at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. In different projects both at GIZ headquarters and abroad, she has been focusing on global water governance, environmental governance and management, and integrated resources management through a water-energy-food security nexus.
Isabel holds an M.S. in agricultural and food economics from the University of Bonn and a B.A. in international economics and development from the University of Bayreuth.
