Aida Guardiola
Regional Program Officer, Anglophone and Lusophone Africa

Aida Guardiola is the Regional Program Officer for Anglophone Africa with the NDC Partnership Support Unit. Her work entails supporting the NDC Partnership Support Unit team for the region with NDC implementation in member countries including support with coordination, regional information and knowledge management. Her work lies at the intersection of stakeholder engagement, research and data management.
Before joining the Support Unit, with nearly 20 years of experience, Aida worked with multiple UN agencies—including UNOPS, UN DESA, FAO, IFAD, UNDP, and UN-Habitat — where she led and advised on climate-resilient infrastructure, fisheries governance, nature-based solutions, urban resilience and water resources management. She has collaborated with governments, NGOs and local communities to design and implement strategies that strengthen resilience, protect natural resources and advance the Sustainable Development Goals.
Aida holds a master's in water resources engineering from the University of Zaragoza, a master’s in agronomy engineering from the University of Lleida, and a bachelor’s in agricultural technical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Girona, alongside postgraduate qualifications in international cooperation and waste management.
