Hayder Alabdali

Iraq In-Country Facilitator

Hayder Alabdali is the In-Country Facilitator for Iraq and is embedded within the Ministry of Environment. He obtained a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and pursued postgraduate studies in urban planning, focusing on sustainable development and smart cities. Hayder has extensive expertise in planning, managing implementation, monitoring, governance, and evaluating projects related to Climate Change mitigation and adaptation. Prior to his current role, he worked as a climate change specialist for organizations such as USAID and ICRC in Iraq, supporting the government's efforts to address the impacts of climate change.
