Dominican Republic In-Country Facilitator

Alan graduated in Legal Sciences at Pedro Henríquez Ureña University, with postgraduate studies in International Negotiations at Florida International University (FIU) and International Development Cooperation at the International Institute of Public Administration of Paris (IIAP). Alan Ramirez has over thirty years of experience in international negotiations, foreign trade, regional integration, and development cooperation. He has developed a professional career as a specialist in managing cooperation projects with governments, international organizations, and private sector institutions. Since August 2020, he was designated as Technical Director of the National Council for Climate Change of the Dominican Republic, where he led important climate initiatives, including the process of reviewing and updating the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) of the Dominican Republic, as well as integrating and coordinating of national negotiating teams as Acting Head of Delegations to two sessions of the SBs of the UNFCCC, and as Deputy Head of Delegations to COP 26, 27, and 28, respectively.
