Niger

Overview

Niger submitted its revised NDC in 2021. The country commits unconditional emissions reductions of 22.75% by 2030 for the agriculture, forestry, and other land use sector and to reduce emissions in the energy sector by 11.20% by 2025 as compared to the business-as-usual scenario. Conditional on international support, Niger aims to reduce emissions in the energy sector by 48% by 2025. The estimated total cost of the NDC implementation is USD 9.9 billion, including USD 3.16 million for mitigation measures and USD 6.74 billion for adaptation. Niger is currently developing an NDC Action Plan and Investment Plan that will be fully aligned with the revised NDC.
