Details

As countries move into implementing their third-generation Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs 3.0), a critical opportunity exists to translate stronger climate planning into tangible and lasting impact. A recent analysis by the NDC Partnership Support Unit of NDC 3.0 submissions shows that countries have significantly strengthened the ambition, quality and inclusiveness of their climate commitments, supported by stronger institutional arrangements, improved technical analysis, enhanced stakeholder engagement and clearer implementation pathways. These advances provide a stronger foundation than ever before for delivering climate and development outcomes at scale.

However, realizing this opportunity will require a sustained focus on implementation. Effective implementation must not only accelerate progress toward existing climate goals but also generate the evidence, capacity, and confidence needed to support greater ambition over time.

This event will explore how countries and partners can capitalize on the NDC 3.0 opportunity by turning commitments into measurable results. Speakers and panelists will share experiences and lessons from implementation, discuss approaches for overcoming implementation challenges and identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration, mobilize investment, and maximize the long-term impact of NDC implementation while laying the groundwork for future ambition.
