Sydney-Johanna (Sydney) Stevns is a Country Specialist for the NDC Partnership Support Unit. Her portfolio covers Asia and parts of Latin America, and serves as the team expert on these countries’ climate change goals and projects. Her work focuses on tracking in-country developments and identifying opportunities for collaboration to help countries exceed their climate change and sustainable development ambitions.
Prior to joining WRI, Sydney worked in research related to climate change adaptation in agriculture and economic development. She has also held various roles in constituent services within the U.S. government.
Sydney holds a B.Sc. in liberal studies from Northeastern University and a M.A. in Law and Diplomacy with concentrations in International Environment and Resource Policy and Development Economics from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, in Medford, MA. She was also a Fulbright Fellow in 2015, studying advanced Indonesian in Java.
In her free time, Sydney enjoys biking, reading, and traveling.
