Ms. Leila OULED ALI holds a master's degree in applied economics and statistics and a master's degree in management. She has worked with different organizations, public, international, private and civil society. She was General Manager of STEG renewable energies, national coordinator of the green jobs platform project (PEV) at UNOPS, executive director of the Mediterranean Renewable Energy Center (MEDREC), responsible for strategic studies at the National Agency for Energy Management, and president of the Women and Environment Alliance. Leila is a former Member Advisor of ICAT (Initiative for Climate Action Transparency) and former Member Advisor of the French Agency for Research and Development (GERAD).
Leila has experience in project management, institutional coordination, and climate and sustainable development policy. She piloted strategic studies for the development of renewable energies in Tunisia, initiated the creation of the energy transition fund, piloted a dozen field projects on the adaptation of rural populations to climate change, she contributed to the design and implementation of the Tunisian program "solar roofs" and is the author of the Tunisian law on Corporate Social Responsibility. As a consultant, Leila has worked with the European Union, ICRD and UNOPS to provide advisory services in institutional coordination, project management, and technical studies on CC mitigation and adaptation. As an activist and member of several international organizations including IUCN, Climate Parliament, the Arab Network for Sustainable Development, and IPC for Food Sovereignty, she has been advocating for more than 20 years to combat the effects of climate change through communication, advocacy and participation in the implementation of national programs and international guidelines.
Currently, Leila is embedded within the Ministry of Environment, where she is facilitating the implementation of the country's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement. She is coordinating the mobilization of actors and resources and supporting the NDC Partnership Country Engagement.
