Felipe Gomez Villota

Country Engagement Specialist

Felipe Gomez Villota is a Country Engagement Specialist for the NDC Partnership Support Unit and is based in Bonn, Germany. Felipe has been involved in various development cooperation programs implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia.


Before joining the NDC Partnership Support Unit, Felipe advised project activities related to Ecosystem based Adaptation, Climate Finance, Biodiversity Conservation and NDC Implementation. Previously, he worked for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and for the Ministry of Environment in Colombia as a coordinator for the Ministry´s Adaptation Group. Felipe has spent most of his career developing biodiversity and climate change policy in Colombia and coordinating the implementation of climate change projects throughout the country.


Felipe received an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, and an Honors Masters in applied Science from the Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand.
