Regional Program Officer for Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and Northern Africa
Alida Toé is the Regional Program Officer for Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and Northern Africa with the NDC Partnership Support Unit. Her responsibilities include, among others, supporting the regional team in the oversight of country engagement related work as well as analyzing and managing regional information with regards to trends and needs in the region. Prior to joining the Support Unit, Alida worked as a consultant with IIED on climate diplomacy and nature-based solutions financing mechanisms and with GIZ on the promotion of sustainable practices in African cashew value chains. She also worked with UNCCD by coordinating a project on sustainable land management and migration in West African countries and by supporting the Local Environmental Coalition for Green Union project (FLEUVE by its French acronym) which is part of the Great Green Wall Initiative. In addition, she worked as an intern with UNFCCC in the National Adaptation Plans and Policy Subprogram.
Alida holds a Bachelor in Political and Social Sciences and a Master in Environmental Policy from Sciences Po Paris as well as a second Master in Latin American Studies from the University of Salamanca. She is fluent in French, English, German and Spanish.
