Project BIOKALA

Case Summary:

The objective of this project is to leverage Cote d’Ivoire’s agricultural waste to create clean electricity, while supporting agricultural livelihoods and expanding energy access. The project has four principal objectives:

1) constructing five power stations leveraging Groupe SIFCa's biomass potential;

2) electricity production at the 150 to 200 MW scale over the next 10 years (1,000 to 1,500 GWh per year);

3) commercialization of energy produced in Cote d'Ivoire (via IPP); and

4) launching an operational stage of the project in 2015.
