Regional NDC Investment Forum Preparatory Meeting for the Caribbean

The NDC Partnership Support Unit, in collaboration with a number of key partners such as the Government of St. Lucia, the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States Commission, Germany's Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), are hosting a Regional NDC Investment Forum Preparatory Meeting for the Caribbean on 18-19 September in St. Lucia.

The overarching goal of the Investment Forum is to mobilize the financial resources needed to achieve low greenhouse gas (GHG) emission, climate-resilient sustainable development in the Caribbean region through public and private investment in NDC-related development projects including, but not limited to:

  • Renewable energy
  • Enhancing energy efficiency, mainly in the building sector
  • Sustainable transport solutions
  • Sustainable water management
  • Agriculture and forestry
  • Building resilience and adaptation

The Investment Forum seeks to contribute to addressing development requirements for target sectors, with a view to advancing the development of the region in line with the objectives of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement.
