Global Environment Facility (GEF) - Enabling Activities under the UNFCCC

The GEF aims to help developing countries and economies in transition to contribute to the overall objective of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The GEF provides support for what it calls "Enabling Activities (EAs)," which are activities to support the preparation of national reports to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as per their obligations in accordance to 2/CP.17. Enabling activities often provide a basic level of information to enable policy and strategic decisions or help identify priority activities within a country. Enabling activities may also include Technology Needs Assessments (TNAs) for small island developing states and least developed countries. This initiative is part of the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
