African Water Facility

Hosted by the AfDB, the African Water Facility (AWF) was created by the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) in response to the need to catalyze the development of the water sector, by increasing the number and the quality of sustainable water projects to meet water development goals throughout the continent. Target goals include increased water, food and energy security, and enhanced regional cooperation and socio-economic growth.

Typically, AWF focuses on the three core areas that are complementary and synergetic: Project Preparation, Water Governance and Water Knowledge.
