Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), long-term strategies and energy transition plans already provide a practical entry point for identifying priority sectors, policy measures and financing needs for accelerated electrification. However, as countries move from commitments to delivery, the key challenge is to connect global ambition and NDCs with national planning processes, investment pipelines and implementation support.

This high-level session focuses on translating the COP31 35-by-35 Global Electrification Pledge into practical, country-led implementation pathways. The discussion will consider how partnerships and initiatives, including the Climate Implementation Bridge developed under the COP31 Presidency, can work together to support countries in delivering the pledge and ensure electrification priorities advance beyond COP31.

The high-level session is intended for an audience of government representatives, development partners, international financial institutions, technical cooperation agencies, the private sector and civil society.
