COP31: From Commitments to Community Results — Gender-Responsive Climate Action in Practice
Gender equality and social inclusion are increasingly reflected in national climate commitments, but implementation remains uneven. This interactive side event will share concrete lessons from countries that are translating gender-responsive climate commitments into policies, budgets, projects, capacity building, data systems, and community-led results. Through a moderated practitioner exchange and audience dialogue, speakers from government, civil society, communities, and technical partners will explore what enables gender-responsive climate action to move from ambition to implementation. Participants will leave with practical approaches to strengthen NDC implementation, climate finance readiness, transparency, and inclusive resilience.
The event is designed to align strongly with the Canada Pavilion’s emphasis on ambition, implementation, and partnership by featuring concrete results from developing country experiences, practical lessons for climate policy and finance, and a dialogue-oriented format that connects governments, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, civil society, youth, technical partners, and international organizations.
