COP31: Closed Breakfast on the Peer-to-Peer Exchange Program on Programmatic Approaches to Finance to Accelerate NDC Implementation
Countries are advancing Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) implementation, with finance playing a critical role in the pace and scale of delivery. Programmatic approaches, which bring projects, institutions and funding sources together under a shared national direction, are emerging as a way to organize finance for NDC implementation. Countries are already testing these approaches, including through country platforms, each in its own institutional and financial context.
Responding to the call in decision 1/CMA.7 for enhancing technical assistance and support for NDC preparation and implementation, the UNFCCC Secretariat, together with UNDP and the NDC Partnership, is launching a Peer-to-Peer Exchange Programme on Programmatic Approaches to Finance.
The closed breakfast will formally launch the Programme and open the conversation between peers who face similar questions in different contexts in preparation of the first in-person workshop. The breakfast is designed as a small, informal space for direct exchange. It will present the Programme and its intended journey. Most importantly, it will hear from the countries themselves: what they are working on, what they hope to get from their peers and how the Programme can best serve them.
