COP28: Armenia's Contribution to Global Stocktake - NDC Implementation Progress

The year 2023 is pivotal to assess the world’s collective progress towards achieving the long-term goals of the Paris agreement via the first global stocktake (GST) which will be culminated at COP28. In April 2021 Armenia approved its updated NDC for, setting an economy-wide target of reducing its GHG by 40 percent below 1990 levels in 2030. To enhance in-country capacity and efforts on achieving the NDC goals, Armenia joined the NDC Partnership in August 2018. At the side-event Armenia will present its progress in the NDC implementation, while partners will share their real-world experience in supporting developing countries to deliver such progress. This kind of information exchange and experience sharing among stakeholders can give an added value to the continuous process of the GST through holding Parties accountable to regularly share and review their individual efforts.
