Overview

Djibouti submitted its NDC in 2016 in which the country commits to an unconditional emissions reduction target of 40% and a conditional target of an additional 20% by 2030 as compared to the business-as-usual scenario. The NDC covers the energy, agriculture, waste, and industrial processes sectors, and includes adaptation measures focused on reducing vulnerability to drought, protecting against rising sea levels, improving access to water, protecting biodiversity and reinforcing the resilience of rural populations. The total estimated cost of NDC implementation is USD 5.4 billion, including USD 3.8 billion to achieve unconditional targets and an additional USD 1.6 billion for conditional targets.
